again, thanks for your intellectual parsing of this issue. just some random thoughts . . . I posted about the dynamics of this as they are playing out in the herbal world; i received over 1000 responses within a week or two; nearly all opposed to its presence in that world, only about five were supportive of it. I have spoken at a great many herbal conferences and centers over the past 30 years; the last time the major conferences occurred, half of the talks were castigation of white racism and the guilt of white people for the oppression of . . . well, insert your favorite here. There were "safe spaces" tents for pretty much every subcategory you can think of, each had signs: no white people welcome in this tent. it took two years of this to destroy communities that had been building, and getting along very well, for the past 35 years.

There doesn't seem to be any part of the CRT philosophy that ascribes any importance to our common humanity, compassion, love, trust, or building strong community connections between people. Nor does there seem to be any desire in its adherents to do so. The obvious problem with this is that without social coherence and trust, the only option is collapse, distrust, and anarchy. Suspicion never seems to build coherent community. And without people working together to build a coherent social structure, we have nothing that will survive any external stressors.

There is no awareness among the wokeratti that the desire for power and money, social standing and control is not limited to white people. Cons, sociopaths, thieves, and authoritarians of whatever color, ethnicity, or religious orientation have understood for centuries that adopting the dress, language, and behavior of a group allows them entry into that group and the ability to direct members of that group to the ends that they feel will gain them what they wish. Those of us from the 60s learned this the hard way. Naivete is an easy mark for the clever.

If you pay attention to only how the wokeratti and CRT FEELS and assume it was a restaurant, would you want to eat there? How comfortable would it be? Would you feel nurtured or not? Would the food be good, or not? And would you ever want to go back? (This is my go to for any situation that my head or social pressure is telling me I HAVE TO participate in. It usually clears any confusion pretty quickly.)

Lesson learned the hard way: If i am interacting with someone and i feel confused, there is a con in there someplace. With CRT, nearly everyone that is not a believer feels confused at first; it takes awhile to figure out where the con lies. It is only if you become a believer that the confusion disappears (or if you figure out that it is a con).

Movements who use shame as a strategy never last very long. Only the stupid in them think it is sustainable to keep doing it. Shaming always stimulates hatred in response. Then payment comes due. Usually the founders are far away by then and on to something new; typical Ponzi scheme dynamics.

Clear articulation from my opponents and their treating me as if i have inherent value and the ability to reason have done more to help me change my opinions than anything else. In other words, articulate love works.

I was imprisoned by ideologically fanatical beliefs when i was young, i don't think i am willing to go back into that prison under any circumstances. and I am pretty sure a lot of people feel the same way. that the wokeratti don't understand this reveals just how imprisoned they still are.

Let me be blunt. There are simply too many stupid guilt ridden white people in this country right now to effectively combat this nonsense. The left has done a masterful job of convincing them that objections to CRT reflect an unwillingness to teach children the history of slavery and racial oppression in the country. Of course teaching objective history is not what CRT and its offshoots that have made their way into our classrooms is all about. One look at the actual materials being introduced to kids under the guise of diversity and inclusion reveals that the intent of such programs is to deconstruct, reconstruct and indoctrinate on the basis of race. That my friend, IS THE DEFINITION OF Critical Race Theory.

Those depending on the likes of CNN for their news and information are convinced CRT is innocuous and limited to simply teaching history. They've believe the pushback against CRT is a product of a Fox conspiracy. The loudly shouting moms at school board meetings? The equivalent the "insurrectionists" that stormed the capitol.

Such naïve thinking holds water until little Buffy and Alexander arrive at home and tell their progressive mom and dad that they want to slit their throats as an act of restitution for the long past sins of people who shared their level of melanin content. To coin a phrase from the 70's, "It's too late Ethel, you already been mooned".

Having said that, it is encouraging to see how passionate some of the protests have been against this nonsense. There are parents who get it. The question is whether or not there's enough steam building up to push this genie back into the bottle. A key to the success of this movement is the insolvent of black parents, whose kids are also being poisoned and share the vision of a more equal and color blind society. I hope the coalition broadens and pressure continues to build...rapidly.
